Patrick John Mills Contemporary Fine Art Gallery
The Art of Giving
Dec 3rd - 19th 2009.
Vernissage... meet the Artists night. Dec 11th. 6: 30 - 9 pm.

For the month of December (3rd - 19th , 2009) Approximately twenty artists show their work.
Each artist shows ten or more paintings (small paintings - each artist has 2 feet wide, by 11 feet high).
Last year there were approximately 240 art works on exhibition in the gallery. 100% of art sales went directly to the artists, zero commission for the gallery. Each artist was asked to donate one work of art to charity. And together all the art works were donated to a local charity.

This is an annual event. Every year for the entire month of December the gallery will host an exhibition where artists will get to show their work in exchange that they donated a painting.

This year all the art work will be donated to Rideauwood Addiction and Family Services. 312 Parkdale Ave. Ottawa. Ontario. K1Y 4X5. The art work will be donated to Rideauwood for permanent display.

Patrick Gordon Framing
Back Burner
Until December 19th

Every two weeks since April 16th, 2007, Yann Martel has mailed Stephen Harper a book along with a letter, and has vowed to do so as long as Harper remains Prime Minister

We, in turn, are inspired by Mr. Martel's letters (www.whatisstephenharperreading.ca) and his interest in the funding of and perceived value for the arts. In Back Burner, 28 artists (who would prefer not to be left there!) consider the ideas through various mediums and through their own words.
