Business and the Arts Recognition Award recipients Geoffrey Eden and John Jackson, with Annual CAO Sweetheart Lunch for the Arts Co-Hosts Councillor Diane Holmes and MP Paul Dewar Business Recognition AwardsThe Council for the Arts in Ottawa (CAO) congratulates the recipients of its Business Recognition Awards: Knowledge Circle Learning Services and John Jackson C.A. The award winners will receive special recognition for their contributions to the arts in Ottawa at the 20th Annual CAO Sweetheart Lunch for the Arts on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Ottawa City Hall. The CAO initiated the Business Recognition program in 1994. The Awards were established to recognize and encourage support given by Ottawa's business community to Ottawa's arts community. Two awards are presented on an annual basis to celebrate the contributions of large and small businesses to the local arts community. To date, 31 businesses have received awards. KNOWLEDGE CIRCLE LEARNING SERVICES: Knowledge Circle Learning Services will be recognized for their continued season sponsorship of Third Wall Theatre Company. Knowledge Circle's commitment to Third Wall, has allowed the Company to grow artistically and helped to position them as an associate theatre company at the Irving Greenberg Theatre Centre. Without Knowledge Circle's assistance and encouragement, Third Wall Theatre could not have developed their potential. JOHN JACKSON C.A.: John Jackson will be recognized for his contribution of financial management and auditing services to numerous arts organizations over the past 30 years including, Gallery 101, SAW Gallery, SAW Video, Canadian Film Institute, Salamander Theatre, Artengine and the Independent Filmmakers Co-operative of Ottawa. His previously unheralded assistance to these organizations has been vital to their continued success. In addition, John has devoted many years as a volunteer for the Ottawa International Jazz Festival.
